Kann mir jemand bei der Bestimmung der von den Seychellois "coco orcheed", siehe Foto, helfen.
Weiters hätte ich noch die Frage, kennt jemand oder schon fotografiert " Agrostophyllum occidentale "?

Danke, spathoglottis plicata für coco orcheed ist ein Treffer.
Mit agrostophyllum occidentale tappe ich noch im Dunkel. ich finde keine Abbildung. Hat jemand das Buch von Rosemary Wise: A Fragile Eden:Portrais of the Endemic Flowering Plants of the Granitic Seychelles.( Amazon liefert nicht nach Österreich) In diesem Buch ist "agrostophyllum occidentale abgebildet".

Na, dank guy brauche ich mir jetzt keinen Wolf mehr nach der "coco orcheed" suchen.

Richard, unter dem Namen "Agro...... occidentale" findest Du auch nichts; habe selbst schon recherchiert.
Hast Du Dir denn mal die Fotos unter dem von mir angegebenen Link angeschaut oder weißt Du nicht, wie sie aussieht?

Vielleicht hat ja ein Forumsmitglied diese Pflanze fotografiert und weiß nur nicht, wie sie heißt.....

Hi hebata,
Guy hat mir die Seite mit der Abbildung der Agrostophyllum occidentale gemailt. Nun stelle ich Dir noch ein Fote einer Briefmarke, die agro... occidentale darstellt. Wird langsam Zeit, dass ich vor Ort bin. Die Coco Orcheed habe ich auf den Seiten gleich gefunden.

Hallo Richard, ich habe auf Guys Empfehlung dieses Buch bestellt. Brauchst du noch Text zu der Pflanze??

Habitat: the plant is a perennial climbing epiphyte that lacks bulbs and reaches a length of 60 cm.
Leaves: The leaves are in two ranks and have flattened blades up to 15 cm long. The apices are rounded, and the bases are folded and sessile.
Flowers: The flowers are in dense terminal clusters. They were not seen.
Fruits: The fruits are green cylindrical capsules up to 6mm long
Distibution: Mahé and Silhouette.

Agrostophyllum occidentale is an uncommom climbing orchid dependent on humidiy and damp habitats, such as those found above 600 m on Morne Blanc and Congo Rouge, Mahe. The teminally flowering plants grow on the moss-covered trees at these altitudes, favoring shaded positions. It is categorized as a threatened spe´cies.
